I thought Blake played very well for his first performance, and, really, for any performance,
He dropped those in the early games and hasn't had many opportunities since. But he's played well. He's had to make a lot of tackles back there.
They played smarter. They didn't have near the number of careless penalties that we've had most of the year. That certainly gave us a good chance.
He's had a wonderful career here, a good guy who has played well. He's had a wonderful attitude all the way through. He's an upbeat, positive young man who is fun to be around.
He's a three-year starter going into his fourth year. That's amazing nowadays, a four-year starter. It just doesn't happen every day. Blake has no starts. None of our quarterbacks have played much at all, so it will be interesting. Hopefully, they'll play like they're capable.
I have always thought the Vandy kids played pretty hard and I just thought they were a little short on talent. They have really improved their talent level and they are playing well. They are an extremely good team.
That's fine with me. We played the last five games without him. If he feels like he can contribute over there, that'll be fine. We'll see how it goes. He can always come back to offense if it's not working.
Sidney had a super game. He played his heart out. He made some big catches for us. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to win the game.
There's not too much to say. Alabama thoroughly beat us. They are a better team. They were coached better, they played better, and they looked like they will have a big season. They have a heck of a team.
It was there tonight. It was there to be had if we were real sharp and maybe played a little better offensively. It was a game where we had a chance, but we couldn't get it done.
They've behaved well and the focus has been pretty good.
Oh, that's a secret, a little secret, ... Nah, we're breaking the balls in. They're all brand new and slippery as can be. Like a watermelon seed when they bring them out of the box. So you try rubbing them in the dirt, the grass, put a little sweat on them. You try everything to get where you can handle them.
If you want to read about some full-blown fights, read about the Tennessee players, not our guys.
The way our pass protection is right now, I don't know if Blake could last anyway.
