We've been 10-5 in the Big Game, that's not bad, ... Yet at the same time, we've been in the top 10 maybe three times in the 15 years I've been here. That's hard on everybody. It's hard on the students. It's hard on the coaches. It's certainly hard on the athletic director.

The timing is regretful, I guess, because what people might read into it, ... But there is no connection. We've been through tough football seasons before, and I think we just have to stay the course. We've not given up on the dream of being consistently successful. But it's difficult. We can't go out and get a bunch of junior college transfers. There are no shortcuts for us.
