Thomas Painewas an English-American political activist, philosopher, political theorist, and revolutionary. One of the Founding Fathers of the United States, he authored the two most influential pamphlets at the start of the American Revolution, and he inspired the rebels in 1776 to declare independence from Britain. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize humankind.
The story of Jesus Christ appearing after he was dead is the story of an apparition, such as timid imaginations can always create in vision, and credulity believe. Stories of this kind had been told of the assassination of Julius Caesar.

Ye that dare oppose, not only tyranny, but the tyrant, stand forth!
I detest the Bible as I detest everything that is cruel.
