Our doubles play today was unacceptable. We did not come out this afternoon ready to play and it really showed. I will be looking for a much better start tomorrow afternoon against Michigan State. If we compete in doubles the way we are capable of competing, then results will show.

I thought we fought really hard throughout the lineup. I was really impressed with how some of our guys were able to come back and gut out some wins.

I'm hoping that we will show more consistency. This past weekend, at times, we competed well, but just very inconsistently and part of that may be traveling on the road.

It was nice for our five freshmen to get their feet wet, and a couple of them made a pretty big splash. P.J. and Griffin did a very nice job of carrying over their fundamental skills to the competition court.

I think getting the doubles point would have made things a little easier. But we never gave up. That's something we have to hang our hat on.

We've been practicing officially for only a few days, so it's hard to predict exactly what kind of performances we may see from our guys this weekend. Putting them out there, especially the freshmen, is sort of like a baptism by fire. I'm interested to see how they respond.

We played hard. Illinois is very, very strong, but we competed very well and challenged them.

We're still struggling in doubles. Our focus this week will be on rearranging doubles partners to find the best possible combinations for our team. Bottom line though, was our singles play. We came in and got it done in singles and it resulted in a victory. I give credit to all of the singles players today. They played real hard.
