If life were fair, everyone would get to win a state championship. We consider ourselves lucky to have two in a row.

There's no question. We sat down last year with the group that was coming back and we threw out what everybody else was returning around the state and let them know where we were and said if everything stays the same and from February to November, if we don't improve, we don't get any faster, then we aren't going to be fighting for a state title. That was pretty clear.

I'm biased. I love having the state meets in Madison. My concern with Waukesha South is that the spectator seating is on the pool deck, so where are the athletes going to be?
