excited future jimmy naturally proud team
Naturally I am disappointed that Jimmy will not be back with our team this season, but I am also very proud of Jim and excited for his future with Detroit.
defensive explosive goals good last quite remind team tough year
They remind me a lot of our team last year quite honestly. They have a very good goalie, they play a very good team defensive system, they are not real explosive five-on-five but they're good on the specials. They're a real good team. Goals will be tough to come by.
hard inspiring kept practice
He has been inspiring to the whole team. He never got down when he wasn't playing. He just kept working hard in practice to improve.
coaches great guys heads hold left proud run
I just told the guys as coaches we were very, very proud of what they accomplished this year. They need to hold their heads up. They left it all out on the ice. We had a great run this year.
either fortunate game gone last momentum shifted swing third time
Every time we scored, they bounced right back. The momentum shifted to us in the third period, but the game could have gone either way. We're just fortunate we got the last swing of momentum.
adverse bounce enjoyable fight found ice injuries stuck team time together whether year
Each time we've been down, we've been able to fight through. The most enjoyable part this year is we've been through some adverse situations, whether it's injuries or or off ice scenarios, we've all stuck together as team and found a way to bounce back and play well.
chipping good kept looked might point run week
At that point it looked like it might be slipping away and we just kept chipping away one week at a time. Before you know it, we were on a real good run down the stretch.
coach common exact impact program successful type wherever
His impact on Wisconsin's program is very significant. He's had the exact same type of impact on our program. And he's been the common denominator right through (former) coach (Shawn) Walsh and myself. ... He's been successful wherever he's been, and that's not an accident. You don't get here so many times by mistake.
elevated game needed time
He has elevated his game at a time when we needed it the most.
consistency handful recruiting
It used to be you see a handful of staffs out there recruiting consistency. And now you see just about everybody.
building carry challenge consistent either focused fortunate game gone impressed minutes momentum number period saturday several sixty swung team third tonight
Northeastern has had our number in this building for several years and we were fortunate to come out with a win. This was a game that could have gone either way and the momentum swung several times, but we were able to carry it for most of the third period. We have not been the most consistent team over sixty minutes this season, but we were very focused i the third period tonight and I was impressed with that. Saturday night will be another challenge for our team.
built chipping good kept run season slip
They weren't going to let the season slip away. They kept chipping away, they built some momentum, and before you know it, we were on a real good run down the stretch.
ben bishop challenge coming consistent defensive effort extremely fabulous forth four good great guys last league played points proud puck stops strong three tonight tougher weekend
I am proud of the way the guys played tonight in a challenging situation. We feel good about coming out of the weekend with four points in the league standings. It was a tougher challenge than last night, but we were able to put forth a consistent effort all three periods. Ben Bishop was fabulous tonight and really strong in net. He made some great defensive stops and also played the puck extremely well.
ending fought game hard ourselves played proved time valuable
Most importantly we didn't quit. We played hard and fought back. Unfortunately it didn't have the storybook ending that we had hoped, but at the same time we proved something to ourselves that we can come back and that the game is never over. Those are valuable lessons.
