basically easy fun gets joe knows loud obviously puck screaming watch
When Joe got the puck I was screaming at him pretty loud and obviously Joe Thornton knows how to find guys. He's fun to play with and watch out there. He knows where you want the puck and he gets it there. Basically I did the easy part. He did all the work.
basically cleaner coming defense great helping job step
Realistically, a lot of what they're doing offensively is helping us. The forwards are doing a great job right now of working low. And basically that allows our defense to step up and it makes the play that much cleaner coming back.
basically easy free joe knew knows obviously perfect puck screaming
I knew it was basically a free play for us. When Joe got that puck I was screaming at him pretty loud, and obviously Joe knows how to find guys. I was in the perfect place and did the easy part. Joe did all the work.
advantage basically game hands huge knowing luckily overtime power
That's a huge advantage going into overtime knowing we're on the power play. Basically the game was in our hands at that point, and luckily we capitalized.
controlled felt games
I think we had a big edge. It felt like we controlled the games for the most part right from the get-go.
playing poor teams
I think a lot of teams are playing a lot right now, so that would be a poor excuse.
battle commit defensive either instead intensity lack overall seemed willing
I think there was an overall lack of intensity on our part. I don't think there was a whole lot of intensity from either side, really. We need to play our own game. It seemed like it was going to be a defensive battle and we were just willing to commit to that instead of going after them like we usually do.
beat close figure games harder hold leads liked onto team won worked
We've got to figure out how to hold onto leads a little better. We've got to close games like that out. Obviously, we would have liked to beat them in regulation, but I think the team that worked harder won tonight.
earlier game guys huge played playoff point treating win year
This was a huge win for us. Earlier in the year we hadn't played these guys very well. We are treating every game like it's a playoff game right now and each point is important.
bury opportunity
We were getting opportunity after opportunity, but we couldn't bury just one of those chances.
helping whatever
We're going to have to find it somewhere. No one else is helping us now. We're the only ones who can help ourselves. So whatever it takes, we're just going to need to do it for those two points.
bury chances eight period second traveling
We've been traveling now for eight days. That makes it all the more important to bury those chances in the second period when we have them.
easy good hard joe knew loud puck shot spot yelled
The puck was in a good place and I shot it as hard as I could. I knew I was in a good spot and I yelled as loud as I could for the puck. Joe Thornton did all the work, I had the easy part.
although confident content continued goals knew score tone
We were down 1-0 but I think we were still pretty happy, although not content with the effort. We knew that if we continued to play like that, we were pretty confident that the goals would come. In the end we were rewarded. Even though we didn't score any goals, we set the tone in the first period.
