allowed excitement exuberance fairly group kids players year youthful
With a different group of players you have a different team. Two years ago we were fairly young with a youthful exuberance and excitement about our program. I think this year the kids have been mature. It has been a different set of circumstances that allowed us to get to this point.
ball floor loose quicker strong
We were not as strong with the ball as we need to be. They were a lot quicker all over the floor and especially to the loose balls.
kids love opponents prepare respect
We have the kind of kids who are going to respect their opponents and prepare the right way. I love that about our kids and our program.
ability best expect guy key kinds means whatever
We need him to be one of our better players, if not our best player. Whatever that takes, whatever that means for Dion to internalize that. He's that good. He has the ability to do those kinds of things. Certainly, we need that from him. I'm going to expect him to be a key guy and one of our better players.
ability basketball bigger certain college good guard keys obvious playing shoulders strong
When (Harris) is playing as good as he can be, and (Daniel) Horton's playing at a certain level, then I think our ability is pretty strong to be a good basketball team. Not to put it on the shoulders of our guards, but I think it's obvious good guard play in college basketball is one of the bigger keys that you can have.
anytime chance five good line opportunity proud raise seniors start
We start five seniors and that is something that we are very proud of going into this NIT tournament. Anytime you get an opportunity to play for a championship, where something is on the line and you have a chance to raise a banner, you have to feel good about it.
opportunity review situations
We're going to review those situations when we get the opportunity to do so.
concerning face played team tournament won
We're going to face a team that has played in the tournament and won in the tournament. That's one of the things that is concerning me.
control cry fights-and-fighting happened harris help obviously team took word
We can cry about that if that's the right word to use, but nonetheless we have to keep fighting. I don't know if that's what happened with our team (when the Buckeyes took control with Harris out). But obviously it didn't help us to have him go down.
bail break brought certainly defend defense defensive fortunate job missed shots together
We brought our defense together where we were able to defend and not break down and not bail them out. They missed some shots and we were fortunate for that and certainly I thought we did a better job on the defensive glass.
basketball beyond certainly coming emotional fans game happy loss pleased saturday thinking win
We're pleased - we're pleased for our school, pleased for our fans and our alums. I'm really pleased for our players. Thinking anything beyond that, it's a game for us right now. ... We have a game coming up here on Saturday (against Wisconsin). We always know a follow-up of an emotional win or loss is always critical. We're happy about the win tonight, but we certainly know there's a lot of basketball to be played.
hole key maturity second stops
We started to get some stops in the second half, and that was a key for us. We did some things that kind of put us in a hole early, but we showed some maturity to claw our way back in, and we didn't panic.
confident thick
We're still in the thick of things. I'm confident we're going to be fine.
