Anthony John "Tony" Hurtis a former New Zealand rower who won two Olympic medals. At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich he teamed with Dick Joyce, Wybo Veldman, John Hunter, Lindsay Wilson, Athol Earl, Trevor Coker and Gary Robertson and Simon Dickieto win the Gold medal in the eights. A lot of programs would think that getting to the semifinals would be great, but for this group, the expectations are higher. The nucleus on the team has been the same for the last few years, and we've lost in the semifinals the last three seasons. We've been consistent, but we haven't quite made it to the top.
