You never know what life is going to throw at you and each and every day I just expect the sun to come up, that's all, these days.
This is not just about women's tennis but about women all over the world. At Wimbledon we would like to have equal prize money to prove that we are equal on all fronts. We will keep lobbying on the matter.
This is perfect for us because obviously we haven't played the last few weeks of the season. To be able to kind of test out ourselves and also to try new techniques just gets me really excited for next year. I'd like to be more aggressive on the court, but more than anything, I'd like to stay healthy next year.
Deep down I'm disappointed I'm not able to be ranked higher,
That's fine because then people will be , 'okay, well, she won't be able to run'. That's a great position to be in.
I was playing decent and she started playing really bad and it totally threw me off. She was playing weird. Next thing I knew I was playing as bad as she was. She started hitting these weird shots, short balls. ... I guess maybe it was a good strategy. It just threw me off.
Well, I'm very disappointed, obviously. I just seemed to get to a point there, I just couldn't pull my game together. Just I don't know what happened. I don't know. So I'm really disappointed, but I feel like in general, I was in good form. I just somehow fell off my form.
In the last matches Serena just always played better, ... She won them. I was happy at least that a Williams won. Obviously I would have loved to have won, but for me it's like the past now.
I just got a little earlier at about one o'clock, so I just enjoy it and enjoy here,
Injuries are part of sports, but right now, (I'm) solid.
I knew she was watching when Serena won the U.S. Open and she's happy to see another black woman win in her lifetime.
I just wasn't used to getting beaten the way she beat me, ... Every time I step on the court, even if it's against Serena, I still feel like I should be the better player because, really, that's how we were raised to think when you came out on the court. So I guess that was probably a factor.
I'm just looking forward to more, I want to win another title -- starting here in Beijing.
I'm so proud to have followed her achievements and to have done it in her lifetime.
