editing together pieces
The process of editing is what I enjoy most - putting the pieces together and making sense out of them.
hands sitting computer
Unlike sitting at a computer screen, printing is very direct and hands-on.
sticks chickens forks
Never count your chickens before you can stick a fork into them.
teenager great-love records
I want to record Goyescas by Granados, which has been a great love of mine since I was a teenager.
school boys play
I'm told I was acting in school plays when I was a tiny little boy at the age of three, so they must have seen something then. And even when I was practicing piano eight hours a day, I was still doing school plays.
looks film limitless
Film is limitless, but some stage presentations on film can look too theatrical.
wine people tvs
Like so many people, I only remembered Orson Welles as this huge, fat, bearded figure selling wine in TV commercials. So whenever anyone said I looked like Orson Welles I said that I wasnt that fat, and I would get on a diet, quickly.
independent writing play
I always wanted to be an independent maverick, writing plays and putting them on myself.
divorce parent difficult
My parents had a difficult divorce.
mexican heritage proud
There's something about my Mexican-American heritage... I'm proud of it.
father together want
My father always said: 'If you want to know someone, live together on a boat.'
blessed pastor nations
Happy and fortunate indeed would this nation be, nay, completely blessed, if it had good prelates and pastors, and but one prince, and that prince a good one.
white backgrounds percent
Evangelicals come from all ethnic and racial backgrounds, but nearly 90 percent of Americans who call themselves evangelicals are white.
spiritual teacher children
The clergy profession is fundamentally self-defeating. Its stated purpose is to nurture spiritual maturity in the church - a valuable goal. In actuality, however; it accomplishes the opposite by nurturing a permanent dependence of the laity on the clergy. Clergy become to their congregations like parents whose children never grow up, like therapists whose clients never become healed, like teachers whose students never graduate.
