thinking names ideas
Nowadays, my mood ungoverned, I'm free to think the most outrageous things, such as: might it not be a good idea to insist that drug companies give their preparations names that tell the user what they really do?
art fall character
Modernism has a reputation for being a forbidding phenomenon: its visual arts disconcertingly non-representational, its literary efforts devoid of the consolations of plot and character - even its films, it's argued, fall well short of that true desideratum: entertainment.
Who'd want to be a modernist writer in the English-speaking world?
fear lives network weirdos
I can't throw anything away. Anything. I'm going to end up like one of those old weirdos who lives in a network of tunnels burrowed through trash - yet I do not fear this.
thinking pragmatists misreading
I think it's a misreading of Dostoevsky to think of him as a programmatic theist. He's actually much closer to someone like William James. He's actually a pragmatist.
book house important
We've clearly entered a period in which the analog of text is no longer important or relevant. All text will be electronic. I accept that fact. My house has thousands of books in it, and I've started to look at them completely differently. They now seem to me to be like antiquarian objects. book ideas mind

character ideas two
My novels tend to come about from a fusion of two big ideas, creating a critical mass that then fissions, throwing off hundreds of other particles, riffs, tropes and characters.
character mean race
What fiction offers us is an intimacy shorn of the messy contingencies of human existence - gender, race, class or age. Those moments of transcendence when we exclaim 'You know exactly what I mean!' depend for much of their force on the anonymous character of the intimacy between writer and reader.
frame game good guarantee mind next
I think that game did a lot for our confidence. It doesn't guarantee we're going to play well in the next game, but we're probably in about as good a frame of mind as we have been in all year.
arizona board changing matter policy state
I think ASU has done everything it can. Now, it's a matter of changing Board of Regents policy and Arizona state law.
apologize elite everybody finishing gives good impression last league second winning year
It gives everybody the impression that we didn't do that well. ... We had a good year last year. I don't think we should apologize for winning the league or finishing second the year before and going to the Elite Eight.
bringing changes enhance positive
I think these changes will be positive for the conference. If anything, I think they will enhance it. Look at what we're bringing in.
decided instead last medical mother nuisance repair revealed slight staff throughout together week
Last week Keith complained of soreness is his knee. He had an MRI on Monday, which revealed some very slight cartilage damage. Keith, his mother and the medical staff then got together and decided to repair it now instead of having it be a nuisance throughout the season.
