leagues lit means parity people
I look around the county, and I see a lit of leagues like ours. With parity a lot of people think that means mediocrity.
crushed education kid start
I know it hurts. It crushed him. But if the kid isn't tough, how can a walk-on kid from Asheville, N.C., come in here, get an education and start for Kansas?
difference forced freshmen hoped knew learn others perfect seniors underneath
I knew we'd be inconsistent. I didn't know to what level. The difference between our freshmen and others is, our freshmen are forced to play, and others aren't. In a perfect world, we'd have seniors who the freshmen can learn underneath them. We've been a little more inconsistent than probably what I hoped so far.
bodies main players playing second throw tired
In the second half, they were playing tired because because we were able to throw a lot of bodies at them. Their main players don't ever come out.
ball billy free helped inside kept second throw ton zone
He still scored a ton from the free throw, but if we hadn't went to the zone he would have had 25 because Billy would have kept making them throw the ball inside to him. So the zone really helped us a lot in the second half.
allow base encourage freshmen game season starting three
How can we base the season on one game when you're starting three freshmen and two sophomores? To me, that's something that we can't allow to happen. I'll encourage the guys, and I'll get on them. I'll be the same way I've always been.
catch good guys involved learning onto played process
He's probably never played with other good players. And learning how to get those guys involved will be a process for him; one that he will catch onto, but not one he will catch onto overnight.
affected game handled hurt mature
I don't think that game has affected him negatively. He's a mature kid, and he's handled it well. He's fine. But I do think that, at least initially, it hurt and hurt bad.
emergency eventually obligated release since
I don't know if we're obligated to do anything. I will (grant release) because eventually he's going to need to be on aid. There's not an emergency need to give him a release (now) since they have no scholarships. It doesn't do him any good.
heart player russell soul start
I don't know if one player spurred it (team chemistry) on more than others, but I do think Russell Robinson, from start to finish, has been the heart and soul of our team.
answering consider focused
I didn't think we were as focused as we should be. I don't consider 25 turnovers answering the bell.
accuracy believe far high led release school shot
I didn't see him play much in high school because we were led to believe we wouldn't have a shot at him. His release has got to get quicker, but his accuracy is far more than I ever expected.
bit dole followed knew quite senator
I didn't know that senator Dole had followed it that close. I was thrilled. He really knew quite a bit about our recruiting.
certainly figure guys hopefully job knock played position shot trying
He's young and just is trying to figure it out. ... I probably played Brandon too many minutes, and that may have contributed to him not being as effective. He said he wasn't tired, but certainly we've got to do a better job of getting guys in there and hopefully put them in a position where they can knock down a shot and give us a boost.
