I was hoping I was going to be back as soon as possible. Then they told me, before I got the MRI results back, that they thought it was an ACL tear and I would be out six months. I was pretty stoked when I found out it wasn't my ACL. I worked as hard as I could to get back.
My first attempt to write about Robert Owen was in the form of poetry. Then I turned it into a blank verse poem, but I discovered that I couldn't fit in all the facts, which are fabulous. I decided to rewrite it a third time, still retaining every image I had already written in the first two versions.
I was not happy about giving (the grand slam) up, but I had to challenge the hitters because it was the seventh inning and we had a 7-1 lead.
I knew the second he knew he wasn't going to be on the field making an impact that he would call it a career. But it seemed like he would never retire. I thought he'd be George Blanda out there catching passes at 45.
They are a band of brothers, and they all seem to want it this year.
There may not be a magic pill. There may well be certain players -- nations, states, companies -- that address the issue in different ways.
I just think it tells us a lot about the culture here, which is that it's absolutely geared towards American product. You might as well give up.

Get up in the morning, catch the bus- you have to sit out there and wait. Then in the winter time, it gets cold and sit out there. It's not worth it in the end.
It's kind of too bad that people know about this, because it's like, 'The only way he could make a good album is if he had an aneurysm,' or something. I feel a little funny about it, because I know I would have made an album anyway, and I don't feel like I'm slowing down, but these things happen. Yeah, there's a lot of reflection. It affected all the songs.
