dictate knows mound needs ready schedules wants whatever
We're going to let Pedro pretty much dictate when he's ready to get on the mound or do whatever he wants to do. We're going to let him take his time. He's a veteran. He knows what he needs to do. We don't need to put any schedules on him because that can always change.
bullpen looks
We're going to keep him in the bullpen. I like the way the bullpen looks right now.
front guys might
There are other guys who might be in front of him, anyway.
attacks ball effortless hit looked quick raw skill type
He's got quick hands. He attacks the ball aggressively. And you have to like his speed. He's just a very effortless type of runner. When he hit that triple, it looked like he was coasting. Just real smooth. It's that young talent, that raw kind of young skill you like to see.
gotten hits
He's gotten some big hits for us. I like his swing. I like his energy.
cliff conversation fine hit sat saying trying
I'm not saying Cliff can't hit him. We're just trying to get everyone in the mix. I sat down and had a conversation with Cliff and he's fine with it.
balls capitalize good hitters poor
Good hitters capitalize on poor pitching. He got some balls up in the zone.
bust gets hitters
Sometimes big hitters try to do too much. Sometimes he gets down on himself, but we keep him going. He's going to bust out of it.
disabled florida hard looks worked
Kaz must have worked hard in Florida (when he was on the disabled list) because he looks better to me in the field.
likeable straw strong
He has that magnetism. He's a big man, a strong man, a likeable man. He's the Straw Man.
exercises feeling healthy nice understand
He's been doing his exercises and maintaining his back exercises, and from what I understand he's feeling real strong. The thing I like more than anything is that everyone's pretty healthy and that's nice to see right now.
playing
It's early. I'm just playing who I feel I should play.
gut heart
I still feel in my heart and my gut that it was the right thing to do,
billy bottom came closed great guys job liked line nice picked picking pitchers scratch throw today
The thing I liked about today more than anything was we picked each other up. I really thought the pitchers did a nice job of picking guys up and we had to scratch for some runs, but the bottom line is that Billy came in and closed it on a great throw by Carlos.
