consistent grab great hold kids knows period rare reminds seize
He just reminds me of one of those rare kids who understands that they have a great opportunity, and they want to grab hold of it, seize it and not look back. He knows he still has to do it over a consistent period of time.
adrenaline coming credit deserves feet fresh good keeping kid nice poise starts
Jake is getting his feet wet, not to get crazy. But it's nice that he's doing well.... That's why I like fresh blood, young blood. When the adrenaline starts flowing, sometimes good things can happen. The kid deserves a lot of credit coming up here and keeping his poise and making a contribution to what we're doing right now.
builds happy kid root team wants works
It builds confidence. Making a contribution to the team is important for a young player. I'm happy for him. He works hard. He wants to win. You root for a kid like that.
david everybody exciting experience fact fans feet game huge involved kids likes mets night obviously pennant proud special victor
The kids are obviously part of our future, and the fact is they're going to experience, hopefully, a very exciting pennant race. Everybody likes their hits. It's being involved in something that could be special and getting experience when the game counts. Mets fans and the organization should be proud of David Wright and Jose Reyes, and Victor Diaz had a huge night also. And Jake is getting his feet wet.
guys handled himself kid
For a kid getting his first taste, he's handled himself pretty well. Ideally, those are the guys that may come quick.
along couple credit dedicated deserves eggs hard helps himself kid opportunity stays sure tough tribute walking worked
I've been kind of walking on eggs with him because I really haven't had an opportunity to give him much rest. It's a tribute to him that he's worked as hard as he has. After having a couple tough years with injuries, he's dedicated himself to making sure he stays in the lineup every day. Being young helps that, but there's a lot of maintenance going along with that, and I think the kid deserves a lot of credit for doing that.
build feels house kidding
It feels great, awesome, are you kidding me? We just need to keep playing, and to build on the house money.
build feels house kidding playing
It feels great. Are you kidding me? It feels awesome, man. We just like to keep playing and build on the house money. Keep building.

Pull a muscle in the on-deck circle, how do you do that?

He wants to be the best. We've talked a lot about his approach.
spit sure taste
I just told them to make sure they don't like the taste they have in their mouth, that they spit it out right away,
comforting glad wants
It's very comforting to have him. He wants to be the best, and we're glad to have him.
concerned second worried
It's only his second start. I'm not concerned or worried about it.
overthrow sure tendency tonight
He has the tendency to overthrow the ball. I'm sure tonight it was no different.
