decision league major sean shown starter
I think Sean has shown he's a major league pitcher, ... The thing about Sean, over the winter, the decision has to be made about if he's a starter or long reliever.
discuss few honest quite sure
I'm sure we'll discuss quite a few things, to be honest with you.
help ourselves pitch
Nate didn't pitch well, and we didn't help ourselves defensively. It's rough.
easy talking
(Mauer's) no easy at-bat. We're going to be talking about him for years to come.
center favorite next starting
I'd have to say he'd be the odds-on favorite right now to be our starting center fielder for next year.
afraid along further tigers took
They're a lot further along than the Tigers were when I took over in 2003. ... I'm not afraid to work,
bounce pitching
But if we keep pitching like this, we'll bounce back.
deal monday worried
Monday will be a big day. But I'm fine. I'm not worried about it. I'll deal with it.
guys
Our big guys and little guys have to be better than that,
block might runs score stop
In the sixth, not being able to block the ball, that was huge. We might still be playing. ... We didn't stop them after that, but we didn't score any runs either, so it's a moot point.
credit deserve exit heck might obviously performance starting victory wondering
But it was a heck of a performance by our bullpen. Obviously it will be forgotten, but they deserve a lot of credit all the same. They had us wondering if something unbelievable (a 1-0 victory after a first-inning exit by a starting pitcher) might happen, but you know what, it didn't.
job matter whether
But it doesn't matter whether there are 2,000 or 45,000 in the stands, ... Your job is to play.
credit except guys honest job seem supposed worse
I give those guys credit over there, ... They have a worse record. They're battling. And that's what we should be doing, to be honest with you. That's the kind of way you're supposed to play. At this point, they have nothing to play for except for what you're supposed to play for: It's another game. That's the job, and they seem to be doing a better job of it than we are right now.
god picked poor thank
Thank God you didn't do that to him, ... Your dog, maybe, but not your son. They would have picked on the poor kid.
