expecting glad low playing tomorrow
I was a little low on energy, I wasn't expecting to play back-to-back. I'll be glad to have a day off tomorrow before playing Tommy on Friday.

They're not lacking in effort and heart, especially when they're playing for their country. They get really inspired to play for their flag and they give it their all, as it should be in Davis Cup.

A lot of pressure is off ... by us doing well this week as well, ... I feel like I've been through a couple battles here. I'm excited. I'm going to go out there and just wing it and have fun.

I think you have to be self-motivated enough first and foremost. You know, I'm gearing my training toward becoming better with everyone. I'm not good enough to worry about one guy. I have to worry about a whole lot of guys.

I guess I'm at the right place at the right time. There's no better feeling than to win with all these fans cheering you on.

I felt like I needed to (get more aggressive), ... I need to make these guys scared of my forehand, and that's what I tried to do today. I tried to serve with a little bit more authority and ended up hitting my second serves great.

Had I served the set out, who knows? ... But I let him back in and he started playing really well.

I love the energy that surrounds this tournament. You know, there's nothing like a night session here. Obviously, I've gotten amazing crowd support here over the years.
birthday felt good run totally wish
I wish I didn't have a birthday during this tournament. This has totally blindsided me. I just felt like I would have a pretty good run here.
draw feels open
Obviously, for Roger, I think every draw feels open to him. But, for me, there's no such thing as an open draw.

I don't think it's a great draw for me, but at the same time, its probably not a good draw for him either.

I knew it would be tough today, Tommy has been in great form early this year. I'm happy with the way I'm hitting the ball.
