In terms of really fooling (veteran quarterbacks like) Manning, (Dan) Marino, (John) Elway at this point in their career, they've seen every blitz, ... They've seen every coverage. They've seen every front. In terms of him standing back there scratching his head like, 'Well, I wonder what coverage that is.' I don't think that's really happening.
Because the offense usually extends a little bit to try to take care of him, they like to bring the linebackers and blitz them up inside. As the line widens to give attention to Peppers, that opens up a lot of the inside pressures for them. We talked about last week (Oakland receiver Randy) Moss being kind of in a special category, offensively, for the Raiders. I think you have to put Peppers in that same, whatever category that is, defensively.
He's feeling better. He's looking better. He's a lot better than he was last week. So he's upgraded from where he was last week.
He's fast and he has good range for the safety position and he's done a good job as a contact player both in hitting and tackling and forcing the run when he's been asked to.
He's probably as good as there is in the game, ... not just on defensive backs, but also coming in and getting linebackers, which is unusual for a lot of receivers.
He's really given us more team speed on the field and he's done a good job of tackling.
I don't really care about that. I'm really concerned about what our team does. We all have a job to do here.
I don't rate them, but he's pretty good. There really isn't much that he can't do. He's good in the passing game. He runs inside. He runs outside. He runs with power. He has a lot of speed. He turns short gains into long ones . . . he can throw it. I think he has a pretty good complement of skills.
I don't rate 'em, but he's pretty good. There isn't much he can't do.
I didn't think there was enough evidence to warrant the challenge.
Chad's a smart, experienced football player. He's got a good background and picks things up quickly. We've thrown a lot at him, and he's been able to handle it. He's starting to take on the leadership role.
Chad is improving a little bit every day, like a lot of our newer players are, ... I don't think he's ever really played this position. But he's a smart guy. He picked it up well and he's a good football player.
Chad has had some versatility throughout his career, so I'm sure that he would be able to do that.
But your whole advantage offensively, is to know when the ball is being snapped. Defensively, that's your one disadvantage.
