basketball good hard hats
That's just a very good basketball team. They come with their hard hats on every night. They're not going to make a lot of mistakes.
david kirk knocked step stepped
I told David he makes me look good. I told Kirk (Snyder) to go to the corner, but that David should be able to step back and be open. He stepped up and knocked it down like he's done so many times this season.
david
I told David he makes me look good.
deserves ethic kirk matter tells works
Kirk (Snyder) deserves a shot. Kirk works his butt off every day. He's still out here. Matter of fact, do you see J.R.? (Smith had left.) That pretty much tells it. It's work ethic -- he has to work harder.
gets grasp seems trouble
He's going to have to really grasp it a lot quicker. He seems to have some trouble with it. But once he gets there, I think he's going to be pretty good.
accomplish coming game people win
He was motivated. He was coming home, he had about 500 people coming to see him today, so he wanted to win the game and play well. We were able to accomplish both.
goes knowing repetition run seem sure wait
He just doesn't seem real sure of what he's doing out there right now. Again, it goes back to repetition and knowing how to run our offense. . . . I can't wait for Speedy to get back.
burn open
You can't give them open looks. And if you do, they are going to burn you.
effort energy high intensity kept night
If you look at our energy and our effort in the Clipper game, and then you look at tonight, it's night and day. It's not the same. The Clipper game, we pretty much kept the same high intensity level.
bottom guys jason join percent plays
Jason plays at 110 percent in every game. We need other guys to join him. That's the bottom line.
game keys learn quickness team though won
Even though we won the game we have a lot of things to learn from. Our athleticism and our quickness are the keys to our team and we need to use them to our advantage.
bad ball fire five four given guard pull ready shots space surprised wide
Sometimes they get surprised he's so wide open. With a guard like that, you've got to keep your space and be ready to fire when the ball comes to you and take the shots that are given you. There was about four or five instances where we weren't ready to pull the trigger, and we end up making it into a bad play.
instead minds realize teammate win
The players' minds were on their teammate instead of the game, which is understandable. I thought after a while that (his players) had to realize that we still had to win this game.
job terrible
We just did a terrible job defensively for pretty much the whole game.
