Casting Crowns is a contemporary Christian and Christian rock band started in 1999 by youth pastor Mark Hall, who serves as the band's lead vocalist, as part of a youth group at First Baptist Church in Downtown Daytona Beach, Florida. They later moved to Stockbridge, Georgia, and more members joined. Some members of the band currently work as ministers for Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church in McDonough, Georgia. As far as the radio stuff ... it still blows me away that this would happen to us. We'll all say without hesitating that we aren't rock stars, we aren't anybody special. We are just normal goofy ordinary people that get to do this for a living.

Hearing anything like that just excites me even more, to be a part of this.
announced dead soon stage stood walking winners
As soon as they announced us as the winners we stood up and we started walking to the stage and there was dead silence, there was no applause. It was weird, but it was really awesome.
