Casting Crowns is a contemporary Christian and Christian rock band started in 1999 by youth pastor Mark Hall, who serves as the band's lead vocalist, as part of a youth group at First Baptist Church in Downtown Daytona Beach, Florida. They later moved to Stockbridge, Georgia, and more members joined. Some members of the band currently work as ministers for Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church in McDonough, Georgia. As soon as they announced us as the winners we stood up and we started walking to the stage and there was dead silence, there was no applause. It was weird, but it was really awesome.

As far as the radio stuff ... it still blows me away that this would happen to us. We'll all say without hesitating that we aren't rock stars, we aren't anybody special. We are just normal goofy ordinary people that get to do this for a living.
crew earlier everybody hear home invite members traveling word
We invite crew members and everybody to come out and hear God's word with us. But other than that, we are pretty much home the earlier part of the week, which is nice. Traveling is a lot of fun, but it does take a lot out of you.
