ball great means playing production run successful
With production comes entitlement. If you play better you get more playing time, which means more opportunity. Cory has been on a successful run of late. He is stroking the ball well and playing great defense.
baseball definitely good kim playing trials
We can definitely get used to (having Kim around), because while he's had his trials and tribulations in other areas, he's playing good baseball for us.
freedom fun hesitant knows nice playing smart
He's doing fine. He knows he has the freedom to play, be smart but be aggressive. We don't want to see him with a hesitant nature. We want him to play like he's 6 and playing in the backyard. He's done some nice things. He's fun to watch.
catching far number pitches playing saw seeing
He's kind of playing behind, catching up, as far as seeing pitches. He saw a number of pitches today.
focused guys job playing resilient victory
That's a very resilient victory. To be down twice. . . . These guys are just focused on playing the game, inning by inning, and getting the job done.
ball black good maybe next playing skills winter
He's got skills, but I told him they weren't playing out. And if the skills he has don't play out here, he would have to play Triple-A next year. It's very black and white. And maybe the idea of winter ball spurred him to have a good September.
bottom dose gaining hitting line opening players playing reality respect special spring
It's a special spring for him. He's gaining the respect of his teammates. He's gaining the respect of players he's playing against. But the bottom line it's still spring training. So, there's the dose of reality ... that there's going to be an opening day for him and he's going to be hitting .000 and he's going to have no homers. But we do like what we're seeing.
certain missed parts playing
There is 'The Book' that has certain things you do and don't do (as a manager). I missed parts of it. We're going to take chances. We're playing to win.
ability dealt recreate since slow
It is something we have dealt with since Day 1. You can't recreate that environment. It's just the ability to go out there and slow the inning down as much as you can.
ceiling
I think we'd like to see his ceiling or find his niche,
groups humility leads passion talked unique work
I think we've talked about it all -- his humility, his work ethic. He has a unique passion for the game. He leads by example. In the groups that he's been in, that's been talked about.
found
I think we've found out about his toughness,
ahead break dissect distance elevate everybody far good months numbers opportunity pack scheme spell themselves three time
I think by far and away he was way ahead of the pack at the time he went down. But the numbers he has now, they still spell out pretty good in the big scheme of things if you want to dissect numbers and break them down. Everybody else had an opportunity of three months to really put some distance between themselves and him and elevate themselves, but it didn't happen.
group todd win
I think it was as important for the group to win without Todd in the lineup as it was for Todd to see the group win without him,
