bargain below dip hunters last later market offset seems strength trapped
The market seems trapped between 1,200 and 1,212 on the S&P. We'll probably see a little strength later in the week, at the very least to offset last week's weakness; and if we see the S&P dip below 1,200, then I think some bargain hunters will come out.
buyers coming impression met money people plenty willing year
I get the impression that every pullback this year has been met with new buyers coming in. There's still plenty of money out there that people are willing to put back into stocks.
due tough
It's been a really tough month. Fundamentally, nothing has changed, but we're probably due for a little pop.
earnings economy fairly flat gives higher market might move opportunity penny prepared seem seems starting tide
Earnings seem to be flat to a penny better, and everyone was prepared for the worst. There don't seem to be a lot of sellers in the market, and it seems like the tide might be starting to turn. The market is fairly valued...it gives the opportunity for the economy and earnings to move higher here.

advance next
I think we'll see an end-of-month advance next week.
catalyst holding investors january markets matter month sure time typical
I'm not sure what's holding investors back, but I'm not anxious. January was a pretty typical month and I think it's only a matter of time before markets do better. I'm just not sure what the catalyst will be.
followed market pattern people
The market has followed the same pattern for years, ... People like holidays.

This particular stage of poker on television is driven by people who have been playing offline for the last 10 years.
prices recovery run
I think (stock) prices have run up anticipating a recovery but I don't think the recovery's here yet,
apathy holding incentive investor move people until willing
There's a lot of investor apathy out there right now, and I don't see any incentive for people to move until the payrolls report. After that, people who are holding out may be willing to get back in.
apart bit falling hear liked market people pleased seen waiting
I'd have liked to have seen us a bit higher, but I'm pleased that the market is at least not falling apart today. I think a lot of people are waiting to hear from Greenspan.
