Herman "Herm" Edwards, Jr.is an American football analyst who most recently coached in the National Football League for the Kansas City Chiefs. Since 2009, he has been a pro football analyst for ESPN. He played cornerback for 10 seasonswith the Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons. Opening day, I'm not shocked at anything. I've been around for 26 years of opening days, and a lot can happen. We didn't handle it very well. They did a better job of coaching, and they played better.
He hadn't played and hadn't practiced a lot.
If you watch his career, he has been a guy that has played in a lot of big games. He kicked a lot of tough kicks in pressure situations. He's an outdoor guy. The weather doesn't bother him. If he continues to do what he did in college, you're talking about a guy that can be here for 10 years-plus.
He's right where he's supposed to be. Everybody made a big deal of how he played last week. It wasn't his arm. It was his decision-making.
I've played that position. You get 10 interceptions in one season, that's pretty good. He had a great season for a guy coming off an injury.
He actually told me what the player was trying to say. So I'll leave it at that. The player didn't mean to say we quit. We quit throwing the ball. That's what he meant.
