decision drop head knows might miss seen
(McLeod) knows how to compete. He may miss a decision or might miss a shot, but he's always going to compete. He's not going to drop his head and say, 'Can't be done.' I've never seen him do that.
experience game themselves third
Let them experience a day off in there, and see if they can keep themselves ready. It's important to see if any of them try to take the third game off.
basketball great help hurt job keeping kinds nelson people shots strong
Nelson did a great job keeping us off balance. I thought his play was terrific. He's strong ... he can score, he was able to get people the basketball and help them get the kinds of shots they wanted. That's one of the big things that hurt us.
bearing guys move none people start
None of this has any bearing on who will start the season. I told them that today. I've got to move a lot of people around. I've got to see how different guys play off the bench, see how they play with other people.
ball defensive drove game looked productive reason top
When we started the ball game it looked like a lay-up drill, the way they drove around us and over the top of the basket. For some reason this lineup hasn't been real productive on the defensive end of the floor.
block boards guys missing second shots sort trying understand win
I understand guys missing shots and that sort of thing. But I don't understand not being able to block them off the boards and give them second shots right when we're trying to win a ballgame.
farther game kept matter next people step team year
People think it's pretty easy, but it's pretty difficult. A year ago, this team just kept going farther and farther down. They didn't step up and try to make a change. We were 11-21, I think, a year ago and the next game didn't matter probably.
gone good impressed players tough
I've always been impressed with what he's able to do. He's just gone through some tough times. Some players do and some players don't. I think those tough times are good for him.
attitude bit chance crop gets upsetting
They showed a little bit of an attitude about what's going on out there. When you play that way, it kind of gets back at you sometimes. It's kind of upsetting that those things crop up when we still have a chance to get to the playoffs.
days difference five four fourth games good played tired
They played back-to-back games and four games in five days and, for them, there wasn't going to be any difference between the fourth game (and the first). You just don't get tired if you're in good shape.
bigger guard guys
There may be times when we use him like that. He can guard some guys bigger than him.
box defended floor happened looking ran salt seeing
This is the same thing that happened in Salt Lake. They ran us off the floor and they defended us. As I'm looking at the box score, I'm seeing they pretty much manhandled us.
ball hands rebounds
This is the way we've always wanted to play. We got our hands on the ball and got rebounds tonight.
bit learn level
They probably did get a little bit intimidated, but they have to learn how to play at this level if they are going to be in this league.
