calls woke
It woke me up. But all the calls have been neat.
given worked
He struggled. He's given us his all, it just hasn't worked out for him.
fan hurts takes
I'm not a big fan of doubleheaders. I think it takes a lot out of your players. It not only hurts them that day but it hurts them down the road.
face guy hard hate predict prepare skip works
He's the kind of guy you hate to look in the face and say you're going to skip him, with how hard he works and the things that he does to prepare himself. You hate to do it. We weren't able to predict the rain.
defensive player school six worry
I don't worry about him defensively. I think you'll see a lot better defensive player in six weeks. They're all going to school right now.
ask beaten catch entire games guy obviously productive sure tough year
You obviously have to be productive to be in the lineup every day. We want to make sure he is productive the entire year. It's tough to ask a guy to catch 120 games a year when he hasn't done it before. He's just not used to that, getting beaten up and fatigued.
gives options top
You can play him in a lot of different spots, and that's what he's going to have to do. He can do some things with the bat. He gives us some different options at the top of the order.
field left national stuff versatile
I want to see what he can do in left field. I want versatile players. I think that's very important, especially in the National League, where there is double-switching, and there is a lot of stuff going on. You need versatility.
easy gotten impress innings time
He's done nothing but impress us. Every time out, he's gotten nothing but outs. He's down in the zone. His innings have been as easy as anyone's here.
excited talent
I'm very excited about the young talent in that room.
blessed
All different. I've been blessed when it comes to managers.
expect mean
Just because you're young doesn't mean you can't play. I expect you to do it just like you did in Double-A and Triple-A. ... It'll be exciting. Don't underestimate these kids.
future maybe spend talk time
I want to spend time with my family, ... Maybe in the future I can talk about that.
amazing special talent
He's an amazing talent. He's a special player.
