ask decision
They just keep making the decision more complicated. Ask me in October.
guy hitting home run tough
Look, if the guy is going to keep hitting a home run a day it would be tough to keep him out of there.
good hit player power run
I think he's going to hit for some power and be a run producer. He's got a good swing. ... He should be a good big-league player before it's all said and done.
guy last possibly start talked
We even talked about it last winter, about him possibly being the leadoff guy to start the season,
against approach certain chance couple guys looking might numbers teams
The first day we got down here, I said, 'The numbers are against you, but you still need to approach it like you're going out there to try and make this team.' I just want him to have fun. I don't know what teams are looking (for a catcher). Certain teams, if we try to get him through (waivers), there's teams that may want to go with the young guys and might take a chance on him. It's unfortunate he had those couple years where he was injured.
against certain expect mcdonald might particular reed year
We could go with Reed if he's in a particular lineup. We might have McDonald in there against certain lefties. There's some flexibility there. I expect Russ to be even better there this year after getting the first year under his belt.
ask chance run time
Every time you run them out there, you have a chance to win. That's all you can ask for.
against beat brains built cause compete division expected gate good key optimism slow team teams trying year
We expected to have a better team than we've had here in a while. The key is to play to good against the teams you're going to compete with all year because there's been optimism built up, expectations and you want to keep that going. You don't want to come out of the gate slow and let the teams you're trying to overtake in your division beat your brains in cause then everybody's like where's the progress?
bit caught front
I just think it's his timing. He's off-balance a little bit more -- and he's getting caught out front a little bit more. But he's always hit. He's going to hit. It's just one of those things.
against bit held keeps playing saw time
The more we saw him out there, we figured, 'It's time to put him in there.' And we may have held on to him a little bit long, not playing against lefties early. ... Russ? He just keeps getting better and better.
ball bullpen came closing couple last might time
Our bullpen came up big time tonight. Gustavo struggled. He might be getting a little tired. He's closing in on that 200-inning marker. His last couple of starts, his ball has been up.
came good scar
We got good news. The X-rays came back good, it's probably just a little scar tissue. It's big, big news.
ball fling heck hoping stands
I tell you, he is a heck of a player. We were hoping he was going to fling that ball into the stands in the ninth.
believe pitchers veteran
Believe it or not, you get some of those veteran pitchers and they can get in some jams and come up with a pitch here or there.
