He's got to pitch ahead to be effective. He was throwing some pitches and he wasn't missing by much if he was missing. When he had to bring it over the plate, they hit him. Then after that, he kind of found his groove and pitched a good ball game and kept us in it from there on.

In the past, if he gave up a few runs early, sometimes the game would get away from him. But he's been a new guy now for the last few months. He's just getting better and better. He showed that tonight.

I'll give him a few games at third base, but Troy plays a lot. I think there's a point just to keep him sharp out there because you never know what happens, somebody could go down. But he's a DH.

There's no question he's been through some tough times, but you know what, everybody has a little bit. This whole game comes down to location. Whether you're a starter or a reliever, you have to make a pitch.
