The distance runners have certain goals their trying to reach individually and as a team. Devin has his own personal goals he's trying to reach, but he's very team oriented as well.

I hate to see them go. I don't know what cross country is going to be like without those guys. But I have them for a few more weeks, so I don't want to think about it.

The guys are going to be excited about it. I told them to listen to the announcements or pick up a copy of the paper if they wanted to know how they did. I think we showed a lot of strength. There's some things I'm not pleased about. The 4-by-100-meter relay needs to get their act together.
fun learned race setting start track
The 1,600-meter race was fun to watch. On a 200-meter track there was a lot of jostling for position. Devin has learned to start better so he was setting the pace.

I have about six or seven guys who have the capability to score out in the distance events.

He was one of those guys who believed in hard work, and he was one of the smartest people you ever met. Terry was a feisty guy. You'll find a lot of people who didn't like him. But it's a great loss to the community of someone of his energy and intellect.

I knew Orange was strong in some areas and I knew that would play into our strengths because they basically have nobody running the 800-meters and above. Two forces met today. They were better in some areas, but we are a little better team.

She had a terrible start, she fell out of the blocks. She was dead last coming out of the blocks, but she has amazing turnover.

Ben has been training, next to Devin, the hardest. I don't know what's gotten into him, but I hope it stays there for three weeks.
