call confidence courage huge plays situation took
It took a lot of courage and confidence to make that call in that situation and they executed it well. They made some huge plays in the game.
battle doubt pride reason
It's going to be a battle of the inexperienced groups. We're going to be young up front, no doubt about that. But there is a lot of pride in that group. They don't want to be the reason we don't do well this year.
becomes everybody games guys picture playing position role strengths weaknesses works
You see guys playing in games and the picture becomes a little more clear. Plus, everybody has a little different role in the backfield and each of the guys we have has some different strengths and weaknesses so we'll try to get them in a position that works for them.
crutch crutches cry encourage gives guys injuries somebody
You just don't have any choice. You can use it as a crutch or you can try to play through it. We try to encourage our guys not to have crutches in any regard. We're accountable for what we do, and injuries are part of the game. You can cry about it or you can keep playing. We try to keep playing, (and) it gives somebody else an opportunity.
ballgame choices chose dwell forward front guys happened previous
We had two choices after the ballgame in Chicago. We could dwell on what happened the previous game or previous games, or we could look forward to what was in front of us and try to make something of that opportunity. That's what our guys chose to do.
ball good line offensive played run surprised veterans year
We were surprised only in the sense that they haven't run the ball this well all year. It was a good strategy. They executed very well. One year ago, the offensive line was very young, but now they are veterans and played like it.
albert quietly talking
We were talking about that the other day. He has quietly kind of slipped with Albert (Young's) emergence.
opponents special subtle
When you do things that are uncharacteristic, we had to play well on special teams, and we didn't do that. When you do things that are not characteristic, even subtle things, you have to give your opponents a lot of credit.
goes-on lines comfort
The bottom line is, as the season goes on, everybody becomes more comfortable. For a quarterback, it's more than just him. It's everybody else doing things. Offense is all about how things work as a unit. It's everybody being comfortable.
return camps deals
Brandon Wegher left camp to deal with some personal things. We hope he can return in the very near future
block challenges linebackers
Getting to the linebackers is difficult. Blocking them is another challenge.
commitment reality decision
The early commitments, early recruiting, that had changed. The whole clock is pushed ahead and you have to make decisions earlier about who to and who not to recruit. Is that a good thing I'm not sure, but it is reality.
coming football knew
We did a lot of things, especially in the first half, that were pretty uncharacteristic of our football team. We knew coming in that we couldn't make a lot of mistakes, but we did.
everybody good news sure
We're not sure where everybody is going to end up. The good news is, we really like what we see.
