I always felt if you get a big guy and a point guard, you got it made. And they were pretty special together.... Kevin, knowing him, he has no ego, he just loves to play and wants to win. I don't think he ever looks at himself as 'the man.' I think that was a perfect match. Looking back on it, it's kind of sad.

He keeps telling me he wants to come back. If the doctors give him the OK, we'll do it, but we'll just go day to day. It would be great to have him back, but if not, I'll get to play Steve more and Jamal more and Nate.

I'm just proud of the young kids. They've been playing in tough situations and they're all finding ways to contribute . . . Why not play the young kids? You have been on my butt all year about that. The bottom line is when they have played, they've played pretty good.

I didn't curse him. I hadn't talked to him the whole game. Obviously he thought I went over the line and that's his prerogative. Those things happen. It's the first game I got kicked out.

He's your leader, he's arguably your best player. We got a young team. They look up to somebody like him. If he doesn't show positive vibes it's not going to help them. He always tells me, 'No coach, I'm involved, I'm not getting down.' I said, 'Sometimes you have to show them that.' Again, that's not his nature, but it would be helpful.

He's a great official. It's great for the game. He still looks young and he gets up and down the court as well as anybody. The NBA needs guys like him.
