both changes hopefully sides unfold
There will be significant changes on both sides of the ball. That will unfold in the fall, and hopefully it will be obvious. The most important thing is it translates into performance.
certainly hart looking mike played somebody week
We should have played Grady, and we're going to play somebody else this week because, simply, it's too much to play Mike Hart every down like we did in that game. Looking back on it, that's certainly something I would have done different.
athlete field finest
Vince Young is the finest athlete I've ever been on the field with.
expect football game mistakes red win work
Offensively, we just made too many mistakes in the red zone. You can't get the football down there and give it away like we did and expect to win a game like this. So we've got a lot of work to do there.
balance great people spread
They're very different offensively. They spread the ball. When you look at the statistics, you'll see great balance in the people that got the football.
accepting confronted guys nobody obstacles situation stepped trying understand win
They understand where we are and there's nobody that isn't accepting the challenge. That's what trying to win a championship is all about. There are always obstacles in your way and there are always things you can use as an excuse. I like the way they've confronted our situation the way a lot of guys have stepped up.
athletes change college giving great increased kicking level obviously opportunity phase plays recent returning seen skilled special spent teams time tremendous
There's a lot of great athletes, skilled athletes that are returning punts, ... The one thing I've seen in recent years at the college level is a tremendous and significant change in special teams play. The time spent obviously has increased in that phase of the game, giving those skilled athletes the opportunity to make big plays in the kicking game.
challenge coming
This is going to be a new challenge coming up. Going on the road, it's a different deal.
add against opportunity program prove team tradition type whenever
The most important thing is having the opportunity to prove what type of team we are against the best. We are a program with a lot of tradition and pride. Whenever you add that in as a motivator, your expectations are high.
deserved happened people players wait
Some things happened at the end, but I'll have to wait and see on tape. I thought our players deserved better. I don't know how many people were on the field. I don't know how that happened.
changes sit type watch
So there are going to be some changes in the lineup because we're not going to sit and watch that type of effort. We need to play harder, we need to play tougher.
ability college easy football four spread stop
Defensively we have to find a way to keep them out of the end zone. College football has changed. Everyone has the ability to spread you out and it's not easy to stop them for four downs.
assignment
Defensively, it's become an assignment game. It's had an unbelievable impact.
changes chris front guy played sit start type watch
Defensively, I'm very, very disappointed in the way we played, particularly in the front seven. I don't think we played well at all up there. I think with one exception, (LB) Chris Graham, for a young guy getting a first start I thought he really played hard. He made a lot of plays. We're just not where we need to be. We need to play harder. We need to play more physical. That is our intent. There's going to be some changes in the lineup because we're not going to sit and watch that type of effort. We need to play harder, we need to play tougher.
