I told (a team executive), 'You guys owe me big on this one. That's a lot of freakin' jerseys.
fun halfway hit morning ready realized
It really hit me this morning, in the morning skate, when I was getting myself ready to play. Halfway through, I realized it was my last. ... It was really fun to play this one.
battle feeling game good hard hit lose obviously soon tie wrong
Good tip, wrong end, wrong time. As soon as it hit my stick, you just get that feeling where it's not good. Just more frustration. You battle hard to tie it up. Obviously a big game for us. To lose it that way, that's the game, I guess.
easy helping knows power
He's been amazing. Everyone knows what he can do defensively, but he's really been helping us on the power play. He makes it real easy for us.
ended guys kids playing second time took
It was the second time we've done it. Most of the guys ended up playing with their kids in the back yard, or they took naps.
decision difficult game incredible journey love playing retire
I have had an incredible journey playing the game I love and my decision to retire has been a very difficult one for me.
best definitely game gave guys last played thankful three tonight
Definitely you could tell tonight the guys wanted to win. That's probably the best game we've played in the last three weeks. We all gave it a little extra, and I'm thankful for that.
hard hard-work night pure rewarding
We just battled all night and never quit. It was pure hard work. It was a very rewarding victory.
bad came caught cost five game mental seemed stupid
We came out and seemed to play well the first five minutes, but then we started making bad mental errors. We got caught making some stupid, stupid mistakes. And it cost us dearly, because this was a game we had to win.
amazing expect fans reaction remember
What a moment. I didn't expect that from the crowd. It's something I'll remember forever. It was an amazing night. ... The reaction of the fans was overwhelming.
amazing certainly cherish great memories moment special win
What a moment - it was overwhelming. It is certainly something I'll cherish forever. It was an amazing night. It certainly made it special to win that way at home. I've had so many great memories here.
brand extra fun gives guys learn line playing second starting together
We're a brand new line and we're just starting to learn each other, ... I think if we keep playing together like that, we're going to find each other on the ice. When you play with guys like that you know they can always make a play -- even if they're covered. So it's fun for a guy like me because it gives me an extra second to get open.
biggest controlled knew last later olympic period puck rewarded sooner
We knew it was the last period before the Olympic break, so we had to go all out -- and we did. We just knew we had to keep coming. Sooner or later when that happens, you get rewarded with breaks. I just didn't know if it was going to be today. We controlled the puck better, made better dump-ins, and that was the biggest difference.
almost came saw
When I came in and saw what they did, it's almost embarrassing that they're making this about me.
