football fun learned playing year
It's been a fun year so far. We just want to keep it going. One thing I've learned at Texas, we've been playing football for 112 years and there were expectations 112 years ago. It hasn't changed.
answer coaches division gray name spot
It's been around a long time. It didn't have a name back then. But coaches in Division I-A still have to answer to 25 and 85. You can't get around that. You have a spot available, and you take them. There's nothing gray about that.
care fashion needed people touch
It's not about the music, it's about what they care about, ... They say old people get off the fashion train. I needed to get back in touch with our team.
bother mad quiet
It's not about me. That's why it didn't bother me then and that's why I'm not mad at them now. They'll just be quiet for a little while.
coaches selfish talk
It's not about me. It would be so selfish for coaches to talk about this being about them.
admired challenge college dominant great program struggling taken tremendous
It'll be a tremendous challenge for us, but a great opportunity. I've really admired what Pete's been able to do - he's taken a program that was struggling and made it the dominant program in college football. And he's done it with a smile.
program proud
It's something that we as a program we are very proud of.
care country fine flying line outside reach spend state texas time
It's something that is a very fine line that you take care of the state of Texas and still being able to reach outside your state some. You do not want to spend all your time flying around the country getting one out of five, when you can get most of what you want from the state of Texas.
chance coaches far food gives happen mean national since university
I think when I get through and I'm gumming my food, it will mean a lot ... As far as today, it would give these kids, these coaches and this university something we haven't done since we've been here. Secondly, it gives you a chance to play for a national championship and that doesn't happen many times in peoples' lives, if ever.
hard marks met proven question tackled until work
You can work on everything in scrimmages, but until you are tackled by someone you have never met who is in a different-colored uniform, it is hard to know how everyone will react. At our school, (the players) are scrutinized and they put up with a lot of things before they have proven themselves. That will be one of the question marks going into the first game: how well will they play under the microscope?
both experience obvious plan playing prepare question
The obvious question is the quarterback position, and right now we would plan on playing both of them. We feel like we would need both of them, because we don't have any experience at quarterback. One of them may struggle. One could get hurt. So we have to prepare both to play.
america attention programs
Honestly, these two programs probably get as much attention as any in America.
best capable line offensive runs since win year
Cedric Benson, if we have the kind of year we're capable of having, could win the Heisman. Right now, we have potentially the best offensive line since we've been here. And I've never been around a quarterback who runs like Vince Young. So I think we're back on track.
best chris class country finished life passing people ranked recruiting starts takes won
I would say if you're ranked No. 1, you better be really good, because it takes on a life of its own. Everyone complained that we had the best recruiting class in country but we only won 10 games. I said, 'Yeah, I know, we were terrible.' Chris Simms finished as the school's all-time passing leader, Cory Redding starts for Detroit, and some people think that class wasn't a success.
