defense proud run stop
We weren't real proud of our run defense. We'll try to stop the run first (against Baylor). If you can't stop the run, you've got problems.
both handle obviously progress throwing
They just both handle things well. Obviously each day we want to see some progress out of them, but they were throwing to the right place and I was really impressed.
ability attention behind biggest enjoying exciting game last less position ready shown team test win
This team has shown the ability to put an exciting win behind them, ... This will be the biggest test of getting them back and getting them ready to go because there will be less attention in this game (Oklahoma State) than there was the last three. I think they're enjoying the ride. We told them that you don't get into this position that many times in your lifetime, so you really need to enjoy it.
country enjoy message running teams top won
The message is we are one of the top two teams in the country. We won by 62, and that's without running it up. We have to enjoy this ride, enjoy this moment.
defense national stop win
Right there I told the defense, 'You stop this play and we're going to win the national championship.
both chance guys jump men ready
We feel like both of these young men have a chance to be great, ... These guys need to jump out there and be ready to go on Saturday.
best fair instant people poor replay somebody win
People want to be fair to athletes, and I think instant replay is one of the best things we've ever done. You want to win, but you don't want to win because somebody made a poor call.
against earned enjoy fight fun game good great group happen helped hype kid nervous odds ohio position stadium state time totally understand unless walking week
It helped us understand that all of the hype around the game is totally unimportant unless you enjoy it. Don't fight it and don't get nervous about it: enjoy it. I had a great time the week of the Ohio State game. I had never been to that stadium and I was like a kid walking in there like a fan. It was fun for our group to have all the odds against us because that doesn't happen very much for us. And that's where we are again. We've earned the right to be here but the odds are against us. And that's a good position for us to be in.
act depressed enjoying entirely fun instead needed pressure start worrying
I thought I put entirely too much pressure on myself. We were winning, and I wasn't having fun. I don't want to act like I was depressed or miserable. But instead of worrying about what wasn't fixed, I needed to start enjoying what we'd accomplished.
both enjoy game hype kick lives people shut teams
Let's shut it up and kick it off and let people enjoy the game. Hopefully, both teams will play well enough that the game lives up to the hype because sometimes they don't.
both everybody good great talks truth
Having two great quarterbacks is not a problem, ... It's a good situation, and I've been there. Everybody talks about, 'Which one is going to play?' But the truth is, both of them are really good and can win.
ability best continues excited game great guys impress progress score special team win work
This team continues to impress us as a staff. Our guys were excited about this game. But we are still a work in progress and we have the ability to play much better than we have yet. If you don't play your best game and you are still able to score 52 points, you know you have a special team out there. This is such a great win for the Longhorns.
bad decision football good tech texas
To be honest, we can play a lot better. We had some turnovers and made a bad decision or two. We've got to do a better job. But Texas Tech is a really good football team.
appreciate coach good great guide history honored knew lives media moment ohio picture players state took trophy winners
I took the media guide and showed our players all the great All-Americans and all the Heisman Trophy winners at Ohio State so they would appreciate the history at the school. I showed them a picture of Coach Hayes because I knew he would be honored there. I want them to know what's going on. I told them when they're 54, they'll look back on this as a great moment in their lives and that they need to play good and they need to win.
