Young people come to Texas and SC for this game, and it's been a long time for us to get back to this game, and we took a baby step last year in this environment. I've talked to the kids about it. It was really surreal, when you're sitting there in the fourth quarter and you're down by two scores to a team who had won 34 straight game and still think you're going to win. We never ever really thought we would lose the ballgame.

They did not have Bobby Reid the last two weeks, and we think they'll have him back. He can make a lot of plays. Turnovers have killed them the last three weeks. When you're playing a team like that it scares you. If they fix their turnover problems, it puts you in a tough spot in a tight game on the road.

Because they're old. They're my age. Today, in a head-on battle, it's no contest. But on that stage, at that time, they were the best team in the country. And they always will be. And that's what this team is trying to be for the 2005 season.

If you're good enough to finish where you want to, and that's to win all your games, you'd rather start high because it's a lot harder now to come from the bottom to the top than it used to be. If you're out of the top 10 and some other teams have good seasons, you can have a great year like Auburn did and not have a chance to win it all. So there's no doubt that it's more important. I wish we started polls in October. Since we do not, I'd rather be rated high.

The thing that I liked best about our team tonight is that they just kept playing and they never got discouraged and they never gave up.

They are the team in college football right now. We understand that we have an opportunity, because we're playing so well, to beat the team that's been the best. That's the goal we set a year ago. We felt like we'd be playing SC in this game. And all of that has happened.
