Martin Pierre Brodeuris a Canadian former ice hockey goaltender and the assistant general manager of the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League. In his 21-season tenure with the New Jersey Devils, he won three Stanley Cup championships and five Eastern Conference titles in 17 postseason campaigns. The distractions that people think we're gonna have, that's bogus for most of the guys on the team. This is such a great time for all of us. It doesn't concern me or any of my teammates.
In the old days we used to be like that, but it's been different for us, definitely. We had a whole day off (Sunday) and only saw each other for about 45 minutes this morning. But I think everybody deep down knew that it was the Flyers coming in and we needed our 'A' game.
I survived the game, ... Personally, I felt really good in there. My leg was good. I was not afraid to play the way I wanted to play. That's something I was looking at before getting a start. I'm pretty happy about it.
It's kind of nice to have (a shutout) on (Stevens') night. We played a tough opponent. It was a playoff atmosphere out there. It's a great day for Scott and it became a great day for us at the same time.
These were big games for us. It's nice to see us dominate them.
I saw everybody in front of me, and their eyes were going crazy. It was a scary five or six seconds. They finally told us there was a mechanical problem and they couldn't get the plane in the air.
It felt a little hurt but now it's fine. No problem.
My skate got caught and I twisted it. I heard it twist and I couldn't get up. All my body weight fell on it. I had to be really hurt to leave the game. We were still in the game at that point.
You play for so long, it's going to happen eventually.
Defensively we're going to have a lot of size. It should be interesting to see - I think it's going to be a learning process - learn to play with each other, learn to play with the new rules, learn to play against other teams. There's all new teams everywhere, they haven't been passive and have been changing players left and right. For the first week it be interesting to see how we play against our traditional rivals because we're going to be playing them a lot.
Defensively, we were awesome. That's as good as a team can play. I don't know how hard they competed against us, but we don't care. It's about how we play.
It's go time now for the NHL teams. It's the drive to the end of the season for who's going to be in the playoffs or not, so I'm definitely excited everybody is starting again.
Sometimes you don't want to embarrass anybody because you don't want to awaken them. We've got to start all over in Game 2.
The Senators are a team we are looking up at in the standings. They beat a lot of teams in our division. Any points we get against them is a plus.
