appreciation giving done
I had tried painting, mostly to give myself a greater appreciation of the craft and to inform how I looked at paintings. That led to collaging some of the work I had done on paper, and I found myself mixing in found pieces as well.
winning boys kentucky
As a young boy I won a few dollars in 1972 when Riva Ridge won the Kentucky Derby. I had overheard someone say he was going to win, and I guess that made an impression on me.
people legs honestly
If you engage people honestly, and you're willing to do the leg work, people will respond to that.
pay taxes wells
If you are doing well, your business will pay more in tax; if you're not doing well, you pay less.

passion issues people
I’d rather be around a passionate nerd than a non-passionate cool person. Because if you lack passion, your soul is diminishing by the second. You have to be passionate about something. break-up pjs gone
When I first went on tour with PJ in '98, I was still in shock having gone through the Soundgarden break up.
differences littles little-things
Little things can make such a big difference during recording.
thinking talking important
I think it's really important these days to be able to relate to how the music flows and be able to speak the same language as your bandmates and the producer, rather than just talking drums.
likes musician kind
I've always liked to be the kind of drummer and musician who likes to go outside of what's expected of me.
teacher practice play
I guess by taking lessons early on, and really trying to play all the rudimentary stuff, and try to have it sound as good as my teacher. It took a lot of practice, which I enjoyed, and still do.
guitar band bass
Ben was more improvisational, and relied less on methodology, and basically is a guitarist who switched to bass, whereas Jeff has a more traditional approach to playing bass in a band, and has a great sense of what his band sounds like, and we lock up nicely.
