basically bit certainly grew lived portland someplace spent time
Certainly when I got the Portland job, there wasn't as much hoopla as there is here, ... I've spent time here. I've lived here. I grew up basically here. There's going to be a little bit more hoopla than there would be someplace else.
allen few guys pain tolerate
Allen is one of the few guys that can tolerate a lot of pain. If Allen can't play, you know he's really, really hurt.
ball drive penalty tried
That?s what we tried to do its drive the ball and get into the penalty and that?s what we did.
beats coach happens lost puts reflection regardless shoulders team whether
Anything that happens with the team is a reflection of myself. Any coach puts it on his shoulders when a team comes in and beats your team, regardless of whether you lost by one or 20.
glad
I've never been so glad to see No. 3.
beat chicago giving good plane thinking
I'm always thinking that something good is going to happen. I think if you go in there thinking, 'Yeah, you're going to get beat by 20,' there's no sense of us going. There's no sense of us getting on the plane and going to Chicago and giving us a chance.
energy perfect points
Our energy got us back in the game. But you've got to play perfect when you get down 28 points or so.
allowed early lead missed nba run shots team time
Every time you're in an NBA game, a team is going to make a run and they're going to make some shots at some point. Early on they missed a lot of shots, which allowed us to get the lead that we had.
figure happy mine yell
Sometimes, I'm a little soft-spoken, and sometimes I yell a little bit. They have to figure out when I'm going to yell, when I'm not going to yell. I think there's a happy medium. I have to find out the little things about players' personalities, and they have to find out about mine as well.
challenge consistent drift fade night trying
That is our challenge this year, trying to get him to play consistent night in and night out and not drift and fade away.
allen defensive game knew offensive raise tonight
Everything we did tonight was energized by Allen not being there. We knew we had to raise our game on the offensive and the defensive end.
allen feels night playing tomorrow waiting
I don't think Allen is coming. He's not playing tomorrow night and we're still waiting to see how he feels for Sunday. It doesn't look good.
bit certainly defense game gets needs overall team unfolds win
That part of the game is better than the overall game. We'd like our defense to get better for 48 minutes. But I think as the game unfolds and when another team needs a basket, I think our defense gets a little bit better. Certainly if you're going to win games, it has to be better down the stretch.
aware minutes start watching
I'm going to start watching his minutes anyway. But I'm not going to try and play him 48 minutes (Wednesday). I'm going to be very aware of his back problem.
