angels good hit hurt lapse pitching played sixth team
I thought our pitching was pretty good today. The Angels have a good team but we pitched well, hit pretty well and defensively played well. That one lapse in the sixth inning hurt us, obviously.
amazing balls guys happens hitter pitching strikes threw throwing
I didn't like it that our guys threw so many balls. They were all throwing strikes pitching in the bullpen. It is amazing what happens when you put a hitter at the plate.
chances continues late pitch pitching safe sorry stays throw
He was disappointed. If he continues to pitch the way he's pitching now and stays healthy, he's going to have a lot of chances to throw shutouts. I think this late in the season, better safe than sorry is the way to go.
game gave given pitching result saw
We saw the result of him not pitching in a game for 14 days. Even given that, he gave up only two hits.
borne die last night pitching three truism white
The old truism that you live and die with your pitching has been borne out the last two nights, and really the whole series. We got two really well pitched games, which we won, and (Tuesday) night was something I'd like to forget. We'll take it. If you take two out of three from the White Sox, that's pretty special.
game hit pitching staff sticks time
Absolutely. He handles the pitching staff very well. He has an idea out there and sticks with a game plan. We'd like to see him hit more, but there's time for that.
behind game hits hitters pitching result saw threw
I think we saw the result of not pitching in a game. Even at that, they only got two hits off him. But he was behind a lot of hitters and threw a lot of pitches.
arm best confident fact game percent seen stronger
I think we've seen him getting stronger and stronger and more confident in the fact his arm is 100 percent healthy. This game was probably the best of them all.
ball runs score threw
Jarrod threw the ball very, very well. He was outstanding. We just couldn't score runs off the other guy.
adjust command consistent element hoping jeff key location somewhere success
Jeff had a seven-pitch first and 35-pitch second, and we were hoping he'd adjust somewhere in the middle. But he couldn't. His location was off and his command, and command is the key element to success on a consistent basis.
along continue jamie last outing
Jamie was good. His outing today, to go along with what Hernandez did last night, it makes you feel pretty good. We just have to continue to do that.
good jamie threw
Jamie did a very good job. He threw well enough to win, but so did the other guy.
afraid catch hip
I said, 'I'm afraid he'll try to catch it in his hip pocket,'
aware certainly extent keeping pitfalls protect sharp steer trying
We don't protect him to the extent that we go around keeping him away from sharp objects. But we're certainly trying to be aware of the pitfalls that are there and we try to steer him away from those.
