arm best confident fact game percent seen stronger
I think we've seen him getting stronger and stronger and more confident in the fact his arm is 100 percent healthy. This game was probably the best of them all.
guys holding invented japan seen somebody trick year
Usually it's two guys holding the victim, but this was even better. I think this trick was invented when Abner Doubleday started this game, and every year there's somebody who hasn't seen it. We had to go all the way to Japan to find someone this time.
afraid best fail seen willie
One of the best things about Willie, other than his speed, is that he's got guts. You can't be afraid to fail and I haven't seen Willie back off in two years.
best bit confidence five four kept last seen stronger tonight
He pretty much kept a good-hitting ballclub off-balance all night. We've seen him getting stronger and stronger and getting more confidence in himself. His last four or five outings, each one has been just a little bit better than the other one. And tonight was probably the best of them all.
anybody feeling field fine kept saying seen taken time
It's the first time I've ever seen anybody play the field with a shinguard on. He kept saying it was fine and that he was feeling better. If he'd have said it was the same or getting worse, I'd have taken him out of the game.
angels good hit hurt lapse pitching played sixth team
I thought our pitching was pretty good today. The Angels have a good team but we pitched well, hit pretty well and defensively played well. That one lapse in the sixth inning hurt us, obviously.
ball runs score threw
Jarrod threw the ball very, very well. He was outstanding. We just couldn't score runs off the other guy.
adjust command consistent element hoping jeff key location somewhere success
Jeff had a seven-pitch first and 35-pitch second, and we were hoping he'd adjust somewhere in the middle. But he couldn't. His location was off and his command, and command is the key element to success on a consistent basis.
along continue jamie last outing
Jamie was good. His outing today, to go along with what Hernandez did last night, it makes you feel pretty good. We just have to continue to do that.
good jamie threw
Jamie did a very good job. He threw well enough to win, but so did the other guy.
afraid catch hip
I said, 'I'm afraid he'll try to catch it in his hip pocket,'
aware certainly extent keeping pitfalls protect sharp steer trying
We don't protect him to the extent that we go around keeping him away from sharp objects. But we're certainly trying to be aware of the pitfalls that are there and we try to steer him away from those.
finally game pulling won
We finally won our first extra-inning game and our first one-run game. When these things end, the way they end is usually like pulling teeth.
fun played
We played well all night, and that made for a fun evening.
