Darrell couldn't throw strikes during the fall of his freshman year. We work so much with our pitchers in the fall on fastball command and his fastball is his No. 3 pitch.

The first game was interesting. We had a four-run lead and squandered it, but Daly puts up zeros, Derek gets the big hit and Steven (Wright) closes it. Steven had to get his work in and 25 pitches was just right.

He came in and threw strikes. He's been a little inconsistent on the year, but he works hard and he's got good stuff.

Steve is in a bit of a funk. He can't get his pitches down and his slider was up. We have some work to do with him.

I thought Steven was a little empty. He was at 106 pitches and Frost was getting good swings off of him. Steven was getting a little tired and we had all the faith in Rich to get the job done.

We had a little edge and were able to sustain it once we got the 5-1 lead. The way we've been playing the last couple weeks, we've been going into cruise control. But we were able to keep it going, putting up the seven runs.

Robbie is playing with a sense of urgency, making things happen. That is very pleasant to see. You have to root for Robbie because of the injuries he has had the last two years.

Justin wasn't trying to overpower people and get strikeouts. He had to stay within himself and learned that.
