We are very proud of the academic progress we've made. I feel our program is as competitive both academically and athletically as any in the nation. We have gone to seven straight bowl games and our APR score ranks in the top 10 in the nation. That's a great accomplishment by our team and our staff.

We just have to keep winning. It's a simple goal, but it's not so simple to do. I don't care what the other team's record is, it's always a big game for us and that's how we have to prepare.

Until Nov. 19, it went very well. At the end, it didn't go very well. We had a very, very good season going and we didn't finish the way we wanted to. But I'm not going to take anything away from this football team. We played at a very high level in many games this year, and it was never from lack of effort.

Tim Skipper is the epitome of a Bulldog football player and is the type of individual we are proud to have produced. He was obviously a very good football player to start for four seasons. As a student, he was excellent. He was a leader on the field and in the locker room. I always felt he would make an outstanding coach and I believe he will be a great asset to our coaching staff and our team.

We adjust to what the defense dictates. We like to run. We had the short field against Toledo and didn't throw it much.

We're getting to a point now where when we get to our scouting team, it's a full-speed picture. We might not spend a lot of time preparing specifically for an opponent, but the time we do spend has been of good quality.
