ball deserve good guy neat sort
I think it's sort of a neat story that 'Rocket' is going to be the guy to take the ball in the first game. Not only does he deserve it, but I think it's a good story, too.
guy hard help late traits win
You always feel like that he's a guy that's going to help you win late in the game. That's one of the traits that's hard to find in a player.
bring clutch guy hits
I think he's the guy that can bring some clutch hits for us. I'm going to do the right thing for the team.
appreciate career fun guys phenomenal player seven shows six smart
I thought his career was about done, and that was about six or seven years ago. That shows how smart I am. ... He's been a phenomenal player and fun to watch...you appreciate what guys like him do for our game.
baggy ball bat good guy head hitting throwing zone
I thought his at-bat was a very good at-bat. His bat head was in the hitting zone on the ball he fouled back, and that's a good sign. The guy was throwing pretty good, was varying his speeds. Baggy was able to get the bat head out there.
applaud ball beats bunch great guy hanging next pitches takes tough
That was a great at-bat. You never know if that has anything to do with the next guy, but when a guy makes a bunch of pitches on you, and he nubs the ball to shortstop and he beats it out, I think it takes something out of you. You've got to applaud Willy for hanging tough in that at-bat.
break guys runs win
We had some other opportunities and couldn't break through. When your big guys go to the mound, you've got to win them. We just didn't put enough runs on the board.
becomes besides brad catcher difficult gone guy looking offense pitchers second sit work
We have traditionally gone with only a second catcher and I'm looking to do that again. The guy becomes important because he's the only guy you have besides Brad. He's also a guy who's going to have to sit around a lot because Brad is going to play a lot. He's got to work with the pitchers and we'd like to get some offense out of him as well, but that's difficult to do because he doesn't play much.
bat chopped great guy liver surgery swung talking
We're not talking about chopped liver here. Yeah, he had surgery and he's not swung the bat like we know Bagwell has in the past, which is with power. But he's still a guy that's going to give you a great at-bat, and he can get you a great at-bat when the game's on the line.
guys home sent
We sent him home because we didn't want him around the guys today. We think he's going to be OK.
figure game gets gives guy nice ninth rotation start team threw won year
Was that his ninth win? That's pretty good. You've got a guy who didn't figure in your rotation at the start of the year and when he gets in he's won more than he's lost, so that's pretty good. He pitched a nice crisp game tonight. He threw strikes, he gets ahead. That gives a team a lift.
good grinding guys huge job last marvelous offense pitching pressure saying six super time today
Wandy did a super job today and that was huge for us. Our pitching has done a marvelous job the last six games. You have to feel good any time they pitch, but I'd like to see our offense come around a little. The guys are grinding and by me saying this, it'll probably put more pressure on them.
ball five guy hurt last six struck third
What hurt was, we struck out for five of the last six outs, ... We didn't put the ball in play, and we had a guy on third base. And that's what hurt us.
bats certainly driving gone good guys offensive problem weeks zone
We're just not getting guys on base, and we're certainly not driving them in when we do. Everybody's frustrated. We've gone two weeks now without really much of an offensive threat. The real problem is that we're not getting the bats in the zone very good right now.
