appreciate career fun guys phenomenal player seven shows six smart
I thought his career was about done, and that was about six or seven years ago. That shows how smart I am. ... He's been a phenomenal player and fun to watch...you appreciate what guys like him do for our game.
break guys runs win
We had some other opportunities and couldn't break through. When your big guys go to the mound, you've got to win them. We just didn't put enough runs on the board.
guys home sent
We sent him home because we didn't want him around the guys today. We think he's going to be OK.
good grinding guys huge job last marvelous offense pitching pressure saying six super time today
Wandy did a super job today and that was huge for us. Our pitching has done a marvelous job the last six games. You have to feel good any time they pitch, but I'd like to see our offense come around a little. The guys are grinding and by me saying this, it'll probably put more pressure on them.
bats certainly driving gone good guys offensive problem weeks zone
We're just not getting guys on base, and we're certainly not driving them in when we do. Everybody's frustrated. We've gone two weeks now without really much of an offensive threat. The real problem is that we're not getting the bats in the zone very good right now.
appreciate created equal guys properly talent
He's better than I thought he was. I'm a (former) player, and I appreciate talent. But, better than that, I appreciate talent that is properly used and properly prepared. Guys like Roger, they're genetically superior. We may all be equal under the law, but we're not all created equal.
control good guys surprised year
He's pitched very, very good for us. I'm surprised his control has been better than most guys in their first year after surgery.
ball drive fly guys run
He got the run in. It wasn't the fly ball or a ball in the gap, but he got the run in. Guys that drive in runs, find a way to get a run in. That's just what they do.
bay came early game guys kept roy sixth tough
He came through big. He had one tough inning, but our guys came through for him. Once in a while, you have to have a little help. Roy kept the game at bay early on. We had a tough sixth inning, and then we responded.
ball ballpark concerns guys hit offense pick
I'd like to see our offense pick it up, ... You're not going to always hit .300 with guys on, and you're not going to hit the ball out of the ballpark a lot of times, but we can be better at some of the little things right now. That's what concerns me more.
expecting guys pitching pressure
What you're expecting from those guys is always pitching in pressure situations,
above drive effect four front gives guys hitting middle pitches produces sneak somebody though
He could have an effect on the guys above him, because if he can (hit 25 homers and drive in 90), then those other guys hitting in front of him would have to get pitches to hit, and they could have some more numbers, too. If he produces like we think he can, it gives you four guys in the middle of the lineup, and you can't sneak though it. Somebody is going to get you.
across anybody arm ball change crossing diamond difficult double extremely guys move quick second seen strong throw time turning unusual
Guys usually have a very difficult time crossing the diamond in the infield. But he's extremely quick, as quick as anybody I've ever seen at turning a double play. That's unusual for a guy to have such a strong arm, who can throw the ball across the diamond and then move to second and immediately be able to change his arm angle.
confidence corrected figured guys level mechanical quite results shoots simple tune
With guys like him that are so in tune with their swings, they know something's off, and it can be something quite as simple as the hands. Once they get it figured out, the confidence level shoots way up and once their confidence level shoots up and they've corrected the mechanical flaws, you can get results like this.
