I had a client who was at the end of her rope and there wasn't much money on the table for her at selling time. She had been carrying this house, hoping to get a better price, but the strategy blew up in her face and she was now paying the consequences of 12 months of carrying costs that had eaten substantially into her equity. You have to be flexible and realize that people are in different circumstances.
