advantage casual deserve hard mistake rest second silly took worked
We were just way too casual the whole second period. We never worked hard enough to deserve anything the rest of the period. And they took advantage of every silly little mistake we made. We got what we deserved.
continue equally hard played prepare shot win
We didn't come here to win just one round. That's not why we played so hard down the stretch. We want to continue to improve. We want a shot at the Cup, simple. We've got to wait, see who we play, prepare and go at them equally as hard.
close fired guys roll schedule storm worn
We're not even close to worn out. If we were worn out, the schedule would have killed us, and it didn't. We're a young team, and these guys are excited. They're all fired up. When you get on a roll like this, you storm into the playoffs.
absolutely game guys home needed plane points ready sitting
We had some guys were probably already sitting on the plane ready to go home and that's not what we needed in a game like this. Now we've got to find a way to get back points we absolutely need.
both games loved team won
We're a team that's pretty resilient. We showed that this year, and now, I mean, I would've loved to have won both games in Nashville. We've got to try and get a split.
adversity face stuff
We responded to adversity and that's important because we're going to face this kind of stuff when we're on the road.
carried everybody finish focused game goal good hardest high job moment next run table
We're in pretty good shape. We want to finish as high as we can. Our goal is to run the table here. The hardest game is always the next one that you play. My job is to keep everybody focused and in the moment and not get too carried away with ourselves.
five game potent power score six stay
We've got, I think, a very potent power play. All indications are it (the calls) should stay the same -- and we'll get five or six opportunities a game and we're going to have to score at least one.
bit discipline expect hard kept lost period power teams third whenever
Whenever we play L.A., we look at their stats and they're one of the most penalized teams in the league. They play hard all the time, right on the edge. So you've got to expect to get power plays. We lost a little bit of our discipline in the third period and had to kill some too, but in the first two periods, we kept on task.
both guard maybe wire
We actually got right down to the wire on both kills. I think maybe we let our guard down a little bit.
accuse certainly somebody
I don't want to accuse somebody of not doing their job. We're certainly going to look into that.
energy
Fortunately for us, with their having back-to-back games, I don't know if they really had the energy to take advantage.
charge good hard people point somebody stick time willing
He's going to play a lot more on the point because we need somebody back there who is willing to take charge and make hard plays, hard snappy passes. And I thought he did a really good job. It's going to take time to get other people comfortable in the other positions, but I'm going to stick with it.
bobby excited fastest gets god good happen hits leading possibly pound pounds rink shots team tempo wide
He's going to be a stud. You can just see it. He's excited to be at the rink every day. He does everything at the fastest tempo that he possibly can and God does he pound the puck. He's leading our team in shots in the preseason by a wide margin. It isn't like he's Bobby Orr leading the attack, he gets it at the point, he pounds it and he hits the net. Good things happen when you are doing that.
