adversity against bounce compete determine football good handle iowa last night team test true
The way we handle adversity is going to determine what kind of team we are. I told them last night that this is our first true test of adversity and how we bounce back, how we handle it, and how we compete against a good Iowa football team will determine what kind of football team we are, and where we are at.
gone team tells winning
There's no one on the team I know, and I've only been gone a year. What that tells me is that they're winning with a young team. And we're going to be a young team.
difference heck points scramble
That's why he's a heck of a quarterback. He can scramble and make things happen. He may be the difference why they got the points and we didn't.
compete competition guys open playing talent talking thinking williams
We're thinking about it and talking about it, and we have to get some competition going in the secondary, ... They want to give Travis Williams a look to see if he can compete a little bit. Those guys have talent but they're not playing the way we need back there, so we'll open it up a little.
anybody ourselves until worry
We have to worry about us. We can't worry about anybody else until we get ourselves fixed.
beginning couple great guard matt missed moving natural pocket ryan snaps spring
We have two new tackles, big guys. That pocket is not going to compress as much. And moving Ryan put him at a more natural position. He's done a great job. A couple of snaps at the beginning of the spring were a little off, but he hasn't missed a call. Moving Matt to guard has made him a little more comfortable.
everybody hear kids loved shakes three
We had kids who didn't hear from their loved ones for three days. It shakes everybody up.
learn
We have a lot to learn from this game, ... We'll get back and get better.

coaches guys locker plays room stand tired
We had opportunities to stand up and make plays and we just didn't do it. I'm tired of it. I know the coaches are tired of it, and I know a lot of guys in that locker room are tired of it.
freshmen growing pains played suffer
We played more freshmen out there. We'll suffer with some growing pains now. We'll be better for it down the road.
miss
We'll be fine. We won't miss a beat.
coming good job tried worn
We just got worn out a bit, ... They did a good job coming back and we just tried to fend off the onslaught.
defensive great help improvement learning line spent time
Vince has done everything I thought he would do in learning our package. He's spent time with the defensive line and linebackers, and I help a lot in the secondary. We've made great improvement on defense, which we should.
