accelerate close continue defense drill feet improve injuries learn offense separate
That's something that we're going to have to continue to improve on; it's something that we need. It's close contact, usually you don't get many injuries there. It's a drill where the defense has got to learn to separate and the offense has to accelerate their feet and just keep doing it.
backs bit running situation three
It's a little bit like our situation in that all three of our running backs are a little different in the way that they run, the way they attack, the power, that kind of thing, ... When you look at what they've done running the football, I think you've got to feel like they're doing something right.
chance game good
It's important that this game is competitive. This should give us a good chance and, hopefully, be entertaining for our fans.
It's day-to-day with Derrick. His conditioning is good, but he's a freshman, so it's going to take some time.
august freshmen glad guys halls normally rest talking walking
It's been different for them. Normally these guys would be walking the halls and talking to girls. When they're really going to be glad they did this is in August when the rest of the freshmen come to practice.
fault middle miss tennessee
They were scheduled to miss the Middle Tennessee game. It's not their fault there was a hurricane.
both pressure sides
They made a lot of adjustments on both sides of the football, ... more pressure on defense.
best lost receiver seen
They lost receivers, but they have a receiver (Robert Jordan) who has already had 11 catches in one game. They are going to be the best receivers we've seen to date.
priority
They know they have to go to class. Their first priority is to get an education. You're here to play football, but you're also here to get an education. You have got to go to class.
The more you can keep it the same, the better off you are.
change half might quarters regular running second
The more we can go out and play and compete, the better we will be. We'll have regular 12-minute quarters in the first half and we'll have 12-minute quarters in the second half but probably with a running clock. We might change that to make it more competitive.
anytime caliber coached definitely guys league personnel respect team
It wasn't my first consideration, ... But it was a consideration. It's particularly important when you're going into a new league of this caliber where you've got guys that have been in it and coached in it. There's definitely a respect anytime you know what a team is about or what a team can do and you know the personnel a little bit. It's very, very important.
looks truly
It looks to me like they've truly reloaded.
best guy line looks lost obviously offensive running seen truly
It looks to me like they have just truly reloaded. The offensive line is huge. The running back is huge. They lost their receivers (to graduation), and they've got a guy (Jordan) who's got 11 catches in one game. They'll be obviously the best receivers we've seen to date.
